Oslo, Norway
The Oslo Marathon has history, scenery and one of the best marathon mishaps we’ve come across. In 1992, three police motorcycles leading the race took a wrong turn in central Oslo, accidentally making the marathon about 1 kilometre too short. The race itself dates back to 1981, while today’s marathon course starts and finishes at Rådhusplassen and includes approximately 350 metres of elevation gain.
